From The Wind And Other Acrylic Paintings

This collection of abstract paintings includes the “From the Wind” series in which I am trying to express the feeling of the wind through the cycle of the seasons. The illusion of movement on a flat, static surface interests me.

Acrylic paint is the medium for these paintings. Most of them were painted on unstretched canvas that was flat on the floor. Although some brushes were used, other unusual tools such as paint scrapers, squeeze bottles, and sponges were employed. The paint also was thrown, dribbled or poured on the canvas, allowing for spontaneity. Using these tools and methods was like “action painting” where the movement of my hands and arms is visible.
