SCREEN PRINTS
Working on paper has a different feeling for me than on canvas. It feels freer and more casual. In these hand-pulled screen prints I am fascinated by “Ombre” – how one color changes into another. Color is very important to me. Some of the prints have allusions to natural phenomena and others are the energy and interactions of colors. Where colors meet at a horizon is especially interesting to me.
These are very small editions of prints because the way the colors are placed on the screen only allows for a limited number before the screen gets saturated.

PASTELS
I love the intensity and directness of soft pastels – PURE COLOR. The interaction of color at a horizon line and the juxtaposition of colors is very important to me. The way that I created the pastels was by trying very small swatches of colors that I felt attracted to until the right combination spoke to me. Then I would begin the larger piece. Other color combinations are available.
